2025: Year of Reforms

India’s Defence Ministry has declared 2025 as the “Year of Reforms” to modernise the armed forces, focusing on integrated strategies, advanced technologies, and joint operations. Initiatives include establishing Integrated Theatre Commands, promoting artificial intelligence and robotics, and enhancing inter-service cooperation. Simplified acquisition procedures and public-private partnerships aim to boost innovation and strengthen defence exports. Welfare measures for veterans and a focus on indigenous capabilities reflect the cultural pride embedded in the reforms. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is leading these efforts to position India as a global leader in defence technology and exports.
