Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme
Introduction:
- Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) is a scheme by the Ministry of Women and Child Development aimed at addressing gender discrimination and promoting women’s empowerment in India.

Objectives:
- Improve the child sex ratio.
- Ensure gender equality and women’s empowerment.
- Prevent gender-biased, sex-selective elimination.
- Ensure survival and protection of the girl child.
- Encourage education and participation of the girl child.
Benefits:
- Initiatives to build awareness and consciousness among target groups and stakeholders.
- Digital Guddi-Gudda Board, Udaan – Sapne Di Duniya De Rubaru, My Aim My Target Campaign, Lakshya Se Rubaru, Noor Jeevan Ka Betiyan, Bitiya and Birba, Aao School Chalein, Collector Ki Class, Bal Cabinet.
Eligibility:
- Family must have a girl child below 10 years of age.
- A Sukanya Samriddhi Account must have been opened in the name of the girl child in any Indian bank.
- The girl child should be a resident Indian.
Exclusions:
- NRI citizens are not eligible for the BBBP scheme.
