Union Cabinet Approves NGLV

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Modi, has approved the development of the Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV), designed by ISRO, to expand India’s space program. Expected to have its first flight by 2025, the NGLV can carry up to 30 tonnes to Low Earth Orbit, three times more than the current LVM3 rocket, and features reusable parts and green propulsion technology. It will support ambitious missions, including building the Indian Space Station and crewed Moon missions by 2040. The NGLV’s modular design, cost-effectiveness, and focus on sustainability will strengthen India’s role in space exploration.
