India and Japan Strengthen Defence Cooperation

India and Japan are deepening defence ties, discussing military cooperation, joint exercises, and technology co-development during the ADMM-Plus meeting. Highlights include the UNICORN project, focusing on stealth technology for warships, and enhanced air defence cooperation. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also engaged in bilateral talks with the Philippines to strengthen partnerships in defence industries, maritime security, and counter-terrorism. These efforts align with regional security objectives under the ADMM-Plus framework, which promotes dialogue among ASEAN and eight partner nations. Singh’s cultural visit to Wat Sisakat in Laos underscores the blend of strategic and cultural ties in the region.
