India Signs Riyadh Design Law Treaty
India has signed the Riyadh Design Law Treaty, adopted by WIPO after two decades of discussions, to simplify international industrial design registration. The treaty introduces procedural flexibility, electronic systems, and multiple design filings to enhance efficiency. With India’s domestic design filings increasing by 120% over two years, the treaty further strengthens intellectual property protection. This agreement supports innovation, fosters global collaboration, and modernises IP processes, aligning with India’s goal of enhancing its creative and industrial sectors.
