Arun Kapur Honoured in Bhutan

Indian educator Arun Kapur received Bhutan’s prestigious “Bura Marp” (red scarf), “Patang” (ceremonial sword), and the honorary title “Dasho” from King Jigme Khesar Namgyel during Bhutan’s 117th National Day celebrations on December 17, 2024. Recognized for his contributions to Bhutanese education, Mr. Kapur founded The Royal Academy and created the Bhutan Baccalaureate system. He also spearheads training for Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC), the world’s first carbon-neutral smart city. Previously, he was awarded Bhutan’s “Druk Thuksey” in 2019. This honour underscores his impactful role in education and India-Bhutan bilateral relations.
