[Study Tips] How to remember the Sources of Indian Constitution
Update – Preamble added in the US *
This topic – “Sources of Indian Constitution” comes under Indian Polity. It covers all those features that our constitution borrowed from other countries’ constitutions or laws. It is very important for the exam but could easily be confused in the exam hall. To make your life easier, I’ve created mnemonic stories from those features in this post. Just remembering the story would be enough to recall in the exam.
What is a Mnemonic story?
- It is the creation of a visual and memorable sentence by stringing together the list of facts that you want to memorise.
- Example: Cat, Leaf, Wind => A pink cat is chasing a giant leaf blowing in the wind.
Note: The following mnemonics don’t have any particular meaning. These are created just for the retention of information through a story basis. More such mnemonics are added in the polity mindmaps.
Features borrowed from the Government of India Act, 1935
From Britain
From the United States *
From Ireland
From Canada
From Australia
From the Germany-Weimar Republic
From Soviet Union
From France
From South Africa
From Japan
