ADB $500 Million Loan
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $500 million loan for India to support sustainable infrastructure through the India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL). The funds target critical sectors such as transportation, energy, urban development, education, and healthcare. The initiative will establish a sustainability unit within IIFCL and develop a scoring system to assess project eco-friendliness. Aimed at addressing India’s $1 trillion climate funding gap, the loan supports climate-resilient infrastructure while enhancing green practices. This step promotes resilience against climate challenges and strengthens India’s commitment to eco-friendly infrastructure development.
