ADB Funds Tripura Water Upgrade
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is funding a Rs 530 crore project to improve the water supply in 12 cities of Tripura, benefiting around 400,000 people and 75,000 families. Launched by Chief Minister Manik Saha under the Mukhyamantri Nagar Unnayan Prakalp scheme, the initiative involves installing 305 km of pipelines, 25 tubewells, 18 iron removal plants, four water treatment plants, and 19 reservoirs. The project, expected to be completed in three years, will later expand to cover eight more cities. ADB, established in 1966, focuses on sustainable development and poverty reduction across its 68 member countries.
