The Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2023-24, conducted by MoSPI, highlights the growth of India’s non-agricultural unincorporated sector. Businesses increased by 12.84% to 7.34 crore, with employment surpassing 12 crore workers. The GVA rose by 16.52%, with “Other Services” showing the highest growth. Women’s entrepreneurship grew to 26.2%, and digital adoption rose to 26.7%. These insights showcase the sector’s resilience post-pandemic and its contribution to economic development, emphasizing the need for data-driven policymaking to sustain growth and inclusion.
