Cabinet Approves Chandrayaan-4, Venus Orbiter
The Indian Cabinet has approved the Chandrayaan-4, Venus Orbiter mission, and Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS), marking a major step in India’s space exploration goals. Chandrayaan-4 will focus on collecting moon samples, building on Chandrayaan-3’s success, while the Venus mission expands India’s planetary research. The BAS project, aimed to be fully operational by 2035, will support astronauts for up to 20 days and strengthen India’s Gaganyaan program. These missions, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underscore India’s ambition to advance space exploration, prepare for a manned moon mission by 2040, and establish a self-sustained human presence in space.
