Defence Acquisition Council Approvals
The Defence Acquisition Council, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, approved military purchases worth over ₹21,772 crore. Key acquisitions include 31 Water Jet Fast Attack Crafts for coastal patrol and anti-piracy operations, 120 Fast Interceptor Crafts to protect vital naval vessels, and six Advanced Light Helicopters for the Indian Coast Guard to boost coastal security and surveillance. These purchases aim to strengthen India’s maritime capabilities, modernise military assets, and enhance national security. The investments highlight India’s focus on countering maritime threats through advanced technologies and bolstered naval infrastructure.
