Delhi Air Quality Alert – Stage III

Delhi’s air quality has deteriorated to the ‘very poor’ category, prompting the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to escalate the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to Stage III. This stage includes hybrid learning for younger students, stricter vehicular restrictions, and mandates for Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to provide electric heaters for workers. Only electric, CNG, or BS-VI diesel vehicles are allowed for inter-state buses, while older diesel vehicles are banned except for essential goods transport. Poor weather, including low wind and mixing height, has worsened pollution levels, necessitating these measures to address health risks and environmental safety.
