Dozer Push Mining Method
The Dozer Push Mining Method, developed by CSIR-CIMFR, was successfully trialed at the Parsa East and Kanta Basan (PEKB) coal mine in Chhattisgarh. This method integrates advanced automation, including unmanned drilling and bulk emulsion explosives, to enhance efficiency and safety in mining operations. Offering a 7-10% reduction in operational costs, it improves coal recovery, reduces weather-related delays, and ensures worker safety through remote-controlled operations. Future plans involve additional trials to optimize the technique. This innovation marks significant progress in India’s coal production, which saw a 5.33% annual growth, driven by improved methods and policies.
