DRDO Conducts Successful Trials of Indian Light Tank Zorawar

The DRDO’s successful testing of the Zorawar light tank marks a major step toward India’s self-reliance in defense technology. Designed for high-altitude and tough terrains, Zorawar is a 25-tonne light tank developed by the CVRDE and Larsen & Toubro. The trials showcased its accuracy and operational capability, responding to the Indian Army’s demand for enhanced flexibility, especially after the India-China standoff in Ladakh. Named after the 19th-century Dogra general Zorawar Singh, this tank highlights India’s shift towards indigenous defense manufacturing, involving MSMEs and reducing reliance on imports for advanced military assets.
