Gaganyaan Mission Progress Update
India’s Gaganyaan mission, its first human spaceflight initiative, is progressing rapidly with an uncrewed flight planned for late 2024 and a crewed mission by 2026. All propulsion systems, including solid, liquid, and cryogenic stages, are now at Sriharikota, and astronaut training is two-thirds complete. The mission’s crew escape system is operational, ensuring astronaut safety. Integration of crew and service modules is ongoing, and ground facilities, including the mission control centre, are nearly ready. ISRO’s collaboration with the European Space Agency enhances mission support and safety. The mission showcases India’s advancements in space technology and international cooperation.
