Gelephu Mindfulness City Project: Bhutan

Bhutan is developing Gelephu Mindfulness City, its largest co-operative initiative, spanning 2,500 square kilometers with a Zero Carbon goal. Supported by India, the project emphasizes sustainability, mindfulness, and economic harmony. It was highlighted at the International Co-operative Alliance conference in New Delhi. Bhutan’s diplomatic engagements with India focus on collaboration in infrastructure, energy, and IT sectors. Concurrently, India plans to establish over two lakh PACS to boost rural economies. Despite regional challenges, Bhutan is committed to Gelephu’s development and strengthening ties with India. The project underscores Bhutan’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in governance.
