Goa Shipyard Launches Fast Patrol Vessels

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has launched two Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs), Amulya and Akshay, for the Indian Coast Guard, enhancing India’s maritime security capabilities. These 52-meter-long, 320-tonne vessels feature indigenous design, advanced navigation, and high-speed performance of up to 35 knots. The launch marks GSL’s commitment to technological innovation, supported by its state-of-the-art Ship-Lift System. These FPVs, equipped for anti-smuggling, patrolling, and wartime operations, represent India’s push for Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) in defense production. GSL plans further advancements with eight FPVs under construction and new-generation crafts in development.
