Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy Scheme aims to promote competitive sports in the university sector, recognize and honor universities with the best sports performance, motivate universities to promote excellence in sports, and encourage a dope-free sports culture among students.

Benefits:
Top 3 recognized universities will be awarded cash prizes of ₹15,00,000, ₹7,50,000, and ₹4,50,000 respectively.
Cash prize money should be spent on promoting sports, including opening a Center of Excellence, infrastructure creation/upgradation, athlete training, cash awards to sportspersons, etc.
Eligibility:
Universities recognized by Government/UGC are eligible for nomination.
Eligible sports disciplines include those recognized by MYAS and are part of Olympics/Asian Games/Commonwealth Games. Additionally, Chess, Kho-Kho, and Cricket are also included based on popularity/indigenous games.
