India at Asia-Pacific Deaf Games

India achieved historic success at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Deaf Games in Kuala Lumpur, winning 55 medals, its best performance since the event’s inception in 1984. The Indian contingent of 68 athletes excelled in seven sports, securing 8 gold, 18 silver, and 29 bronze medals. Athletics contributed the most medals, while standout performers like Priyanga Paramaraj, Vinith Mani, and Jerlin Anika Jayaratchagan shone across various disciplines. The Sports Authority of India (SAI) played a crucial role by organizing training camps and offering financial support. This achievement highlights India’s growing focus on inclusivity and sports development for differently-abled athletes.
