India Leads in Mobile Malware
India has become the leading target for mobile malware attacks globally, accounting for 28% of incidents, according to a Zscaler ThreatLabz report for 2023-2024. The surge highlights a growing cybersecurity crisis, with financial losses in Delhi alone increasing by 158% in the first half of 2024. Phishing attacks targeting mobile banking users have intensified, especially among private banks. India also represents 66.5% of mobile malware incidents in the Asia-Pacific region. Strengthening cybersecurity measures, public awareness, and training are critical to counter these threats effectively.
