India Surpasses Japan in Asia Power Index
India has risen to third place in the Asia Power Index, surpassing Japan due to strong post-pandemic economic recovery and diplomatic initiatives. The Asia Power Index, compiled by the Lowy Institute, measures the power of 27 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. India’s score improved with its large population, growing GDP, and increased diplomatic influence through strategic efforts like the Quad. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India follows a non-aligned strategy, managing complex geopolitical issues. Despite the progress, India still has potential to further leverage its resources for greater global influence.
