India-Thailand Defence Dialogue
The 9th India-Thailand Defence Dialogue, held in New Delhi, emphasized enhancing bilateral defence cooperation. Co-chaired by Amitabh Prasad and General Tharapong Malakam, it led to the establishment of a Joint Working Group (JWG) to oversee defence industry collaboration. Both nations agreed to initiate exchanges of military experts and knowledge-sharing to strengthen ties. Thailand’s strategic importance to India’s Act East Policy and shared interests in maintaining Indo-Pacific stability were key focus areas. The dialogue is a significant step in advancing regional security, addressing shared challenges, and fostering closer military ties.
