IPBES UN Biodiversity Conference 2024
The 11th IPBES UN Biodiversity Conference began in Namibia on December 10, 2024, with over 850 participants from 150 countries discussing global biodiversity challenges. Two significant reports, the Nexus Assessment and the Transformative Change Assessment, will be released, addressing interconnected crises like biodiversity loss, climate change, and socio-economic systems. The Nexus report, created by 165 experts from 57 countries, provides integrated solutions, while the Transformative Change report outlines systemic changes in society, economy, and technology. Delegates also discussed the upcoming Global Assessment of Biodiversity, emphasizing community involvement and international cooperation for sustainable development.
