ISRO to Launch US Communications Satellite Bluebird

ISRO is set to launch the Bluebird satellite, a major US communication satellite, for the first time using India’s GSLV (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle). Manufactured by AST SpaceMobile, this advanced satellite aims to revolutionize mobile communication by enabling direct voice calls from space without special equipment. The satellite features a large 64 square-meter antenna and weighs about 6,000 kg. This collaboration reflects the deepening India-US space partnership and boosts ISRO’s credibility in heavy satellite launches. The mission also highlights ISRO’s progress in satellite manufacturing and management, supporting global connectivity and innovation in space technology.
