In 2020, it introduced a 50:50 ratio scheme to address these issues, but allegations of misuse and involvement of middlemen have surfaced. Opposition parties demand a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, while the state government has announced a one-man judicial commission to investigate. The situation underscores the need for transparency and reform in land compensation practices.
