Kendriya Vidyalayas Expansion 2024

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the establishment of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and the expansion of one in Shivamogga, Karnataka. This initiative, with an estimated investment of ₹5,872 crore, aims to enhance access to quality education for children of Central Government and Defence employees while creating 5,388 permanent jobs. The new schools will serve 82,560 additional students, aligning with the PM Shri School objectives under the National Education Policy 2020. KVs, known for their high standards and innovation, continue to contribute significantly to education in remote and urban areas.
