Kerala Launches Supercapacitor Manufacturing Facility
Kerala inaugurated India’s first supercapacitor manufacturing facility at Keltron Component Complex Limited (KCCL) in Kannur, marking a major advancement in the state’s electronics sector. The ₹42 crore facility, supported by ISRO, will produce 2,000 supercapacitors daily, essential for industries like electric vehicles, defense, and aerospace. Kerala plans further investment of ₹1,000 crore to boost its electronics manufacturing capabilities. Keltron, a government-run pioneer in electronics, leads this initiative. The facility is expected to generate ₹22 crore annually, positioning Kerala as a leader in high-tech industries.
