Last Scorpene Submarine INS Vaghsheer Delivered
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has delivered INS Vaghsheer, the sixth and final Scorpene-class submarine, to the Indian Navy, enhancing India’s maritime strength. Designed for anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare, Vaghsheer boasts state-of-the-art stealth capabilities, acoustic silencing, and the ability to launch torpedoes and missiles. Equipped with advanced systems like the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) and Combat Management System (CMS), it can gather intelligence and conduct surveillance. MDL’s achievement underscores India’s growth as a submarine-building nation. This milestone completes the Scorpene project, which includes submarines like Kalvari and Khanderi, showcasing India’s naval self-reliance and global standing.
