Manastu Space’s Green Propulsion Success
Manastu Space, an IIT Bombay-founded start-up, successfully test-fired its green propulsion system, VYOM 2U, onboard ISRO’s PSLV-C60 on December 31, 2024. This innovative, eco-friendly propulsion system reduces environmental impact and enhances human safety. The test, conducted via the PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM), demonstrated precise control and stability. Achieving Technology Readiness Level 8 (TRL-8), VYOM 2U is now ready for commercial deployment. Manastu Space plans further experiments like seed germination in space and robotic debris capture. This success positions the start-up as a leader in sustainable propulsion technologies, contributing to cleaner and safer space exploration.
