Mohammad al-Bashir Prime Minister
Mohammad al-Bashir has been appointed Prime Minister of Syria’s transitional government after Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) led an offensive that ousted Bashar al-Assad. Born in Idlib’s Jabal Zawiya in 1986, Bashir has degrees in electrical engineering, law, and Sharia. Formerly the Prime Minister of the Salvation Government, he focused on digital services and regulatory improvements. As PM, he faces challenges of political instability and rebuilding. HTS justifies its offensive as a response to Assad’s attacks on civilians, with Bashir overseeing recovery efforts in Aleppo. His tenure highlights Syria’s uncertain future amidst a volatile political landscape.
