National Legal Metrology Portal (eMaap)
The National Legal Metrology Portal (eMaap) is a new unified online platform being developed by the Government of India to centralize and streamline legal metrology processes. Managed by the Department of Consumer Affairs, it aims to simplify the issuing of licenses, verification of trade instruments, and enforcement activities. It will reduce paperwork, promote compliance with the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, and ensure accuracy in trade instruments. Engaging stakeholders like FICCI and ASSOCHAM, the portal also enhances transparency and efficiency for businesses, consumers, and governments.
