National Panchayat Awards 2024
The National Panchayat Awards 2024, held on December 11 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, recognized 45 Panchayats for their exemplary contributions to sustainable and inclusive rural development. Presided over by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the awards highlighted achievements in areas like climate sustainability, renewable energy adoption, poverty reduction, health, and education. Tripura and Odisha received top honors, with ₹46 crore awarded directly to winners. Award categories included the Carbon Neutral Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar, Gram Urja Swaraj Puraskar, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP), and Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar, inspiring improved governance and grassroots development.
