NHAI Performance Rating System
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced a performance rating system to evaluate highway concessionaires, aiming to enhance accountability and ensure safer roads. The system uses the Pavement Condition Index (PCI), weighted at 80%, and compliance with the NHAI One App, weighted at 20%, to score performance on a scale of 0 to 100. Advanced technology like Laser Crack Measurement Systems is employed for precise data collection. Scores below 70 mark a company as a “non-performer,” disqualifying them from new projects. This initiative promotes better highway construction and maintenance standards.
