NMCG Approves Ganga Projects

The 59th Executive Committee meeting of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) approved projects worth ₹272 crores to enhance Ganga conservation. Major initiatives include a 45 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Chandauli costing ₹263 crores and a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant in Manikpur worth ₹9 crores. Additional projects in Buxar, Bihar, involve STPs with 50 MLD and 1 MLD capacities costing ₹257 crores. In Uttarpara-Kotrung Municipality, a 22 KLD integrated septage treatment plant will be built for ₹8 crores. These projects highlight the NMCG’s commitment to promoting sustainability and reducing pollution in the Ganga River.
