“Ocean-24” Russia-China Naval Exercises

Russia and China have initiated the massive “Ocean-24” naval exercises from September 10-16, 2024, marking the largest joint military drills in 30 years. Involving over 400 warships, 120 aircraft, and 90,000 personnel, the exercises span the Sea of Japan, Pacific, Arctic, Mediterranean, Caspian, and Baltic Seas. The drills aim to improve coordination in defending against large-scale sea attacks, handling drone threats, and conducting amphibious operations. This significant collaboration strengthens Russia-China military ties and signals their growing global military influence, potentially affecting alliances and global security dynamics.
