Sanjay Malhotra: RBI Governor
Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a three-year term, succeeding Shaktikanta Das. A 1990-batch IAS officer, Malhotra holds a Computer Science degree from IIT Kanpur and a Public Policy master’s from Princeton University. With 33 years of experience, he has served in diverse sectors including finance, taxation, and power. As Revenue Secretary since 2022, he shaped tax policies and enhanced collections. Malhotra’s tenure at REC Ltd. demonstrated leadership in rural electrification. His appointment is expected to strengthen monetary policy and address upcoming economic challenges.
