UGC Guidelines for RPL
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released guidelines for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to enhance education accessibility and support lifelong learning. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Credit Framework (NCrF), RPL converts informal learning into formal qualifications, bridging gaps for India’s informal workforce. The guidelines emphasize governance, quality assurance, and social inclusion, especially for marginalized groups. With nearly 40 national strategies, RPL aims to boost socio-economic status, foster equity, and create a skilled workforce by integrating experiential learning with formal education pathways.
